Crowded with cruise ship visitors but only during mid-point of day. Once we figured out layout, easy to get around. Lots of stairs, so be prepared. All was welcoming. Especially all the tours and guides. Wine-tasting and catamaran tours great. E-bike was a bit more difficult than I anticipated - but probably more about my fitness level - not the tour. Oia is stunning, especially at sunset, but in September it felt overrun with cruise ship crowds and influencers. We loved our simple apartment with its incredible views, starry nights, and the local cats and donkeys. Food and wine are excellent but expensive, and swimming isn’t easy without hiring a car or scooter. So beautiful and picturesque! Take lots of photos, you won’t regret it! Restaurants are a bit overpriced but there are plenty of other food options around. Oia is a romantic town with views that you will never forget. Ferries tend to arrive at similar times and with up to 5 cruise ships disembarking each day for day trips the town and roads leading to it can get incredibly busy. This was our second time in Oia, and we still love it. The first time, we were there on a day trip. This time, we stayed for a week. The views are stunning. It was less crowded than we expected. The room we had was spacious and extremely comfortable with a king size bed and pool lounges on the balcony to take in the sunset! The location was perfect especially if you didn’t want lots of stairs. Located between the bus station and the main streets of Oia , it meant that you were right in the activity of Santorini but still far enough away to have peace and quiet.
