Not much happening in Karterados and Fira is bloody...
Not much happening in Karterados and Fira is bloody expensive. I would however recommend moving on to other nicer islands such as Milos, Ios, Naxos and particularly Paros. Only thing I'd change is renting an ATV/scooter/car right from the get-go. Buses in Santorini are not that reliable and do not seem to go according to the schedule printed in the main station (only the airport one departed as scheduled from what I could see). That being said, it's not a terribly long walk, but after a full day walking and sweating under the sun, who wants to wait for a bus or walk for 30 minutes? This was our second time staying in the village.
This was our second time staying in the village. Very convenient for getting around not too far to walk to Fira. We don’t like crows so prefer to stay outside of the main tourist areas this is just far enough away from the capital. It is super clean, comfortable, and quiet. The owner is lovely and very helpful. She even brought us some homemade cake for breakfast one morning. The bus stop from the ferry port is also close by.
