Lovely quiet little village with interesting buildings and church. Super shop Rolfes Butchers sell meat, pies, cheeses and much, much more. Only a short visit so didn't have a chance to explore further.

Walsham le Willows is a tiny place, good food at the Blue Boar pub, 1 convenience shop selling most things. Didn't really explore Walsham as we were cycling, but cycled out to Lavenham, Diss, Harleston, Old Flexistowe and Framlingham. All of which are really lovely, some superb coffee shops - especially at Woodbridge by the Tide Mill. We ate out at The Old Mill pub just outside Framlingham - The Green, Saxtead, Woodbridge IP13 9QE - the food is out of this world - superb and reasonably priced.

Everything about this apartment shouts quality and no expense has been spared to furnish it. It's positioned in a beautiful, quiet village with a couple of old pubs, one of which serves food. There was a TV in each bedroom, as well as the lounge, a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer, a heated towel rail in the bathroom and plenty of extra cutlery and crockery. Very highly recommended and excellent value for money.

My recent stay at this property was far from the idyllic...

My recent stay at this property was far from the idyllic experience depicted in the photos and described in the listing. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the property had been misrepresented. The advertised amenities, such as a TV, wardrobe, ironing facilities, and even a kitchen, were nowhere to be found! The absence of a kitchen was particularly inconvenient and unhygienic, as we had to use the bathroom upstairs to access water and wash dishes. This oversight is unacceptable and made our stay extremely uncomfortable. Additionally, the property's management left much to be desired. The agent in charge was unhelpful and displayed a rude attitude, which further dampened our overall impression. The supposed professional cleaning service charged a hefty £70, but the state of the property suggested otherwise. Spider webs and dampness were pervasive, making the living conditions less than desirable. The constant need to empty the de-humidifier twice a day due to excessive dampness was an unforeseen hassle. The foul smell in the property was nauseating, and even with all windows and door open, it persisted. The dampness and odour are not mentioned in the listing, adding to the sense of deception. Moreover, the property's location in a congested cul-de-sac surrounded by other properties was less than ideal for those seeking tranquillity and privacy. In conclusion, this property falls far short of its advertised claims. Don't be swayed by the photos or the previously boasted "exceptional" rating, which has now dwindled to "8" (by 1 reviewer!). I strongly advise against staying here until significant improvements are made. It is a misleading and unpleasant experience that does not offer value for money.

But for the weather we could have spent much more time in the village surroundings, as our hostess provided info on local walks, and of course the area is noted for its fine country churches. But it is an excellent touring location, in easy reach by car of many places of interest such as historic Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham or Ely, Sutton Hoo with its new exhibition hall, or seaside towns such as Aldeburgh or Southwold. For families, too, there are locations such as the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary near Stowmarket or Bressingham Steam Museum near Diss, while for art lovers you are close to Constable and Gainsborough country.
