If I could give the whole experience of staying at the Pig Inn more than five stars, I would! We were traveling down from Edinburgh and were going to be arriving late, so I called up to ask whether we might be able to eat at the restaurant. Eileen, (a gem of a person and member of staff - so much so, that my husband and I thought she owned the place!) said that, as the kitchen would be closing at 8.30pm, she could take our orders and the food would be waiting for us once we got there. She actually stayed on the phone with me and read out the whole menu for us to choose what we would like to eat! I couldn't believe it. The food was ready for us when we got there, and was absolutely delicious! Eileen made sure we were happy and comfortable and really couldn't do enough for us. She really made our stay so much more special and memorable. Thank you, Eileen! The premises themselves are immaculate and spotlessly clean and very very comfortable. I would highly recommend this property to stay at. I hope we return to the area because if we do, there is no doubt in my mind that we will be staying here. Bravo to all at the Pig Inn! A complete gem of a place.

Breakfast was self service and accommodated for many different dietary requirements. Cleanliness of the bedroom, bathroom and eating area were of an excellent standard. Bedroom is spacious and very comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and certainly value for money.

    This charming market town is quiet at night and offers a variety of shops and supermarkets. Parking at the supermarket is very easy. The town is close to the station, and there are plenty of options for outdoor activities, including a lovely walking trail and a great spot for dog walking. The countryside is simply breathtaking. Oh, and don’t miss Thorne Golf Place ⛳️

    There was a park with Lakes, ducks, fishing and a cafe with parking almost accross the road from our stay. It was local to the buisness we needed to do. People friendly. Lots of shops. Two train stations. Other bigger park with childrens play area and train track other side of Thorne. Have been there before. Didnt eat in there this time. Went to a small local village. Can be busy in the town centre but ok. Locals seem to like it there.

    The staff are lovely,helpful and friendly..a credit to The Punchbowl Inn as a returning factor remembering their great customer service and nothing too much trouble.Location is a 5 minute walk from the train station at Thorne North with hf hr trains to/from Doncaster by the looks(we live in Manchester so great connections too)Laid back,friendly,not too busy pub/venue.Beds clean and comfy.Music off from party room in good time for midnight,very fair.

    The breakfast was excellent, the drinks from the bar extreamly cheap. The evening meal was above expectations. The staff including the manager went above and beyond expectations. The surrounding of the area were good great for shopping and there is a great walk around a lake. The people of Thorne were very friendly
