St Andrews is a lovely place to visit.

St Andrews is a lovely place to visit. The people we met were so friendly and made us feel welcome. Plenty of places to visit in the area. The only downside was the botanic gardens as they could do with some tlc.

St Andrews is a lovely, quirky, historical place.

St Andrews is a lovely, quirky, historical place. The Grange Inn restaurant is definitely worth a visit, as is the Jigger Inn bar near the golf course. There are lots of cafes and shops, it's a great place to walk around and of course there is the famous golf course. We didn't get to visit the beach sadly, hopefully next time. The Rufflets hotel is also great for food and a gorgeous hotel - we attended a wedding dance here.

Very nice little city with two nice beaches (I preferred the West Sand Beach tho). There is a few very interesting museums that are mostly free. And St Andrews University with its three combined colleges and old buildings located all over the little city is very pretty and interesting. Even tho I m not particularly a full on fan of golf I did enjoy the golf/links and history of the golf side of the city. The Jannettas Gelato and Northpoint Cafe are really nice and affordable. The the topping and co booksellers (shop) is big and really really nice. It’s a city that has lots of charms and could please diverse and different interests. It particularly made me want to read books on the grass or in St Mary’s Quadrangle or in a bench, on Sunday it is allowed for people to walk on the old course which is a nice place to read too but maybe it’s preferable after 4 pm when people aren’t too much walking around and it’s less crowded then.

Great town, plenty to see and do, the best golf course with amazing views. Played mini golf at the Himalayas, shopping, sightseeing, plenty of pubs and restaurants, caught the train from nearby Leuchars into Edinburgh for the day, around an hour away.

St Andrews is a very beautiful town with charming old houses and streets. The small town has many nice shops, cafés, restaurants, a lovely beach/coastal area, church ruins, and museums. It's easy to get around in the city on foot.

Very nice people in a town that has all you need.

Very nice people in a town that has all you need. Most significantly, you get a perfect ensemble of small-town feel with great sense of a seaside retreat and the charm of a medieval town. This is the old St. Andrews with the Cathedral ruins, the two lovely border streets (South and North Street) and the university. Beaches are quite nice. It has concert music, a fantastic bookstore, charming restaurants and pubs, and for those who must--golf. The one thing that is unfortunately obvious, the locals work in the old city, otherwise it is occupied by the students most of the year and in summer by tourists, many of them golfers.

Recently stayed at Hotel Du Vin for three nights with our French bulldog. The hotel is fantastic, and the service, especially from Shannon and Kelsey, was excellent. They accommodated all our requests with ease. The breakfast was delicious with a wide selection. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit St. Andrews.
