Everyone we interacted with was friendly. The town looked a bit “concrete”, lacking in character. Limited dining opportunities during our midweek stay. My mum was born in Carfin, and we visited relatives there quite frequently - mostly passed on now. My wife and I were on our way to a holiday in the highlands so we decided to break our journey in Motherwell. I was last there about fifty years ago, so everywhere was very different!
