Was lovely comfortable and picturesque and good facilities.

Was lovely comfortable and picturesque and good facilities. Owners friendly with any queries and happy to help. Was just missing traditional frying pan, scissors (difficult to open dog found without so bought some) and a plastic chopping board for sliding cut veg into pan. Hob was a bit temperamental but I got what to press in end after speaking to owners. Outside light wasn’t working and it’s dark but I reported and they were in process of replacing. Views breathtaking. Lanchester garden centre dog friendly even in cafe locally good for walk about and eating. Also Lanchester village nice place to potter. Kings head pub very nice dog friendly pub. Hv dog throws, water bowls, water and free treats and nice food. Half pub dog friendly. Nice ice cream place two steps away at pet shop. Serendipity cafe was told great. Also recommended Italian and Chinese takeaway in village called Golden Valley. Also told that The Cross Keys pub that was dog friendly nearby In Front Street, Esh Village. Not far from Durham either. Rental very reasonable and very comfortable bed and good size lounge diner and front and back door with back patio with bench table and chairs with lovely views.

Langley Park is very conveniently located for our visits to Beamish and Brancepeth Castle. It was a lovely peaceful place to retreat to after the crowds at Beamish in particular. We ate at the Kings Head in nearby Lanchester, however found both their lambs fry and gammon on the tough side. Travelled there via Yarm Road Fish & Chips in Darlington where we had the best haddock ever- justifying them being awarded 2025 Best Fish Fryer in the UK!

Great location - not far from Durham.

Great location - not far from Durham. Quiet surroundings and easy access to green spaces and walks with equally easy access to the village shops and restaurants. Good Thai restaurant on Front Street. Host was very helpful and responsive and the access process was really easy.

Quebec is a little village, good for a peaceful stay.

Quebec is a little village, good for a peaceful stay. Cottage was an aged miners home which had been remodelled. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Lovely countryside around. Close to amenities in Langley Park. There is a tearoom in Quebec which looked good but we didn't have time to try it. Easy route in to Durham City.

The house was in a housing estate, but only a short walk to the local shops and the Indian restaurant which was very good. There were pleasant walks around Langley Park Old Rec and also the Wetlands. The areawas convenient for getting around to other places. There is a very interesting walk up to a pub, which was recommended at the top of the hill. Took about 20 minutes - including 185 steps - which I counted! The food was worth the climb.
