I was in the apartment without a kitchen. It’s a kind of tiny bungalow out the back a terraced house - accessed by a locked side passage way. The owners are responsive and communicate clearly (eg instructions to bring own towels). This is a spacious rental. A reasonable double bed with clean bedding duvet and pillows, in a room with also a sofa (not sofabed) and plenty of floor space for luggage. There was a bedside table and lamp. I had no need to hang clothes but didn’t notice a rail to do this. It had comfortable armchairs in a reception room with a patio door that opens onto the yard. The private bathroom features a walk in shower, sink and loo. The place is about 6 mins walk to pubs and cafes(I had a very good Turkish takeaway in Rosemary Road.) I was able to park on the property driveway (instructions make it clear this is not guaranteed.

We stayed at Kingscliff hotel for a holiday with 7-month old twins. The family room was cosy, clean and spacious: we had a double bed, two single beds and two cots and we managed to place our rocking chairs and a playmat in between. We appreciated that we were given a room on the ground floor and there was no need for us to carry our babies up and down the stairs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Each day we needed to warm baby milk and sterilise bottles in a microwave, and all our requests were accommodated promptly. The breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant was always delicious, with wide choice. In the restaurant, we were also provided with convenient high chairs for the babies.

This was our second stay at this hotel. After our first visit, we didn't hesitate to book again. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were comfortable, and everything you may need is provided. Full English breakfast was perfect.

The ambience. After a bit of a scary moment and a few kerfuffles here and there, the staff and the manager were just the kindest and the sweetest. They cared about my soloness and accommodated me above and beyond. It's not the Ritz, but it was very close as far as the care and attention was concerned. The room was cozy and the lighting great. Beds comfy and decor fancy and thoughtful (depending on room)! Fridge and microwave a bonus. Clean towels and bedding. The balcony is great with views of Clacton pier and the lights if you get those rooms. But mostly the kindness of the staff was the winning point especially the Boss. I felt safe after feeling unsafe because locks do need to be put on porch doors as terraces are very close to eachother and that's important I think if you're travelling solo. I had a fab time though. A very memorable experience.

Oh WOW what a fantastic stay we had at the Lodge, from the chocolates and the warmth of the Lodge to the beautiful fragrance when you step through the door. It was cosy, warm, quiet, extremely clean, also the correspondence with Julie was very warm and welcoming. It was everything we thought it would be. Thank you Julie and Alistair for a lovely stay.

    We stayed at Great Clacton The accommodation was good. It was a stop over as we had travelled down to the beach that day. The beach at Clacton on Sea and Holland on see is very good to visit the later if you wish to have a quieter time on the beach. At Great Clacton their is free parking and some shops and a couple of pubs we visited a Thai restaurant there the food was good.
