Very comfortable room with a direct view of the seafront. Good range of cable television options available, more than most other hotels. Location of the hotel was excellent - walking distance to many dining places and also to the town centre. Situated in between the pier and the bandstand which was a treat as we were able to hear the band performance and watch the Wednesday fireworks from our window! Good availability of parking spaces at a very reasonable cost for hotel guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful - Olivia and Glenn deserve a mention and also George, the General Manager. The hotel provides a good discount incentive for future visits - will certainly be tempted to take the offer!

A classy hotel and all things considered very good value, especially if you compare the price with the grand hotel next door. You can get three to four nights at the lansdowne for one night at the grand, and you can go into the grand for afternoon tea and take a long walk to the 'cloakroom' through the sumptuously adorned hall and corridors. I should also give a mention to the lovely breakfast at the lansdowne where we had kippers and poached eggs.and the dessert we had in the dining room. Just before closing was a treat.

Nice town, excellent cafes and pubs.

Nice town, excellent cafes and pubs. Interesting tour bus, lots of nice drop of points to see, specially beachy head and seven sisters. Not too pricey either and the ticket lasts for 24 hours. I believe it was about £10, I am a senior. Nice sea front good public transport. Hastings Rye and Brighton all easy to get too and more.

Eastbourne has a lovely long promenade and beaches with a huge diversity of things to see for all age groups. The town centre is different every time I visit. The are lots of shops. You have a choice of theatres so check what's on. The Towner Art Gallery has a café. There is the Sovereign Harbour and again lots of places to eat and shop.

Eastbourne is centrally located for the South Downs and Beachy Head, Brighton, Hastings and Lewes. There is a lovely marina with boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops. It's a pebble beach but there is a walkway with seating for coffee/ice creams. A bandstand with live music also on the seafront. Loads of places to eat in the town centre.

The Marine pub serves great food and good portion sizes.

The Marine pub serves great food and good portion sizes. The main entrance is on Seaside Road but the beer garden entrance is not even 2 minutes walk from the cottage. The Jade Garden Chinese takeaway on seaside road was good too, being only a few minutes away the food was cooked to order and hot when we got back to the cottage with it. The Victorian Tea Room on the pier is well staffed, made to order and a great place for afternoon tea. It is very easy to walk around Eastbourne although there were some roadworks going on while we were there they didn’t bother us as the car was parked on Saturday we arrived and not moved till the following Saturday when we left. The Neon Crazy Golf on pier was fun and passed almost an hour as there were 4 of us playing. The Devonshire Theatre had a great show on. Loosely based on Morecombe and Wise it was very funny and well presented. The Dotto Train is always worth a trip and as Wednesday was a bit damp we went on it to Sovereign Harbour. A trip around the shopping area and lunch in The Harvester Restaurant at the marina. Good food served in a friendly manner with unlimited salad, what more could you need on a wet lunchtime. Eastbourne Airbourne was on from 14th-17th August and was the reason I chose that week to go to Eastbourne and it didn’t disappoint. There is nothing better than watching the planes from a great position on the promenade or seafront.

The property was in a perfect location for the pier, seafront and town centre. Eastbourne has an amazing seafront. The flat which is on two floors had everything you could need for a break away from home. The WIFI was good, the flat was really warm and the sofa was comfortable. It was very spacious. Also an excellent TV with access to IPlayer via little red.

The hotel is in a great position right on the seafront. Comfy room with a view over the sea. An old-fashioned-style hotel built in 1880 reminded me of something from a period drama. Lots of Northern OAPs were on holiday here. Fab breakfast was well worth the extra fiver. Will stay here again when in the area.
