One of the most beautiful and relaxing stays The property is located in the heart of the English countryside. If you love nature and animals, it is truly an enchanting place. What can we say about our stay? The room was super cosy and clean, but the bed made all the difference: we slept exceptionally well. We chose to have dinner there, and we made the right choice! Local products cooked to perfection! If you can, book for the weekend: breakfast is worth it. It was a surprise for us, but it was definitely the highlight of a fantastic short stay.

Beautiful old building that has a quirkiness which a hundreds year old converted building has The staff was so friendly. Needing an inexpensive place to sleep on my travels, The Holt was perfect with an extremely comfortable bed and pillows and a shower that was bigger than most I've experienced in England..

Fantastic hotel. From the moment we arrived until the time we checked out, every aspect of my stay was absolutely outstanding. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Throughout my stay, I encountered no issues or inconveniences, thanks to the exceptional service and efficiency of the staff. They were readily available to answer any questions. One of the standout features of this hotel was its charming eating area – warm and inviting atmosphere. The tasteful decor, comfortable seating, and pleasant ambiance created the perfect setting for enjoying a delicious meal. The staff in the restaurant were attentive, friendly, and provided exceptional service, making each dining experience a true delight. Conveniently location right in the centre of town, this hotel was easy to find and ample parking at the back and front for those with a blue badge. A lot larger than it appears the building is older, but it really adds to its charm. There is also a pleasant garden behind the building. We stayed in the front of the building, the room was incredibly spacious, clean, well maintained, beautifully furnished and the quality of the bedding was the best I'd experienced in a hotel in quite some time. Bathroom appeared to be recently renovated and equipped with everything you need. Staff were friendly and helpful, above average standard of service. This hotel is a great for holiday makers, special occasions or just anyone who would prefer to stay somewhere stylish, comfortable and cosy on business or in transit.

Hosts Jessica and Sam were lovely - friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Nice relaxed atmosphere, we felt very comfortable right away. Unexpected touches of luxury, bath robe and slippers as well as the usual complimentary toiletries. The property is all on one level. This won’t matter to the young and fit, but for older guests with arthritic ankles (us), no stairs is a big bonus.

    Three (very different) hotel/pubs in the village - all...

    Three (very different) hotel/pubs in the village - all offering food. Excellent shop - Eagles Fine Foods almost opposite the Unicorn Inn with delicatessen and fresh food. For "Garden" visitors: Rousham is a few miles away; Batsford Arboretum a 40 minute drive away. Parking in Deddington is not restricted and free. Co-Op and Post Office opposite the Unicorn Inn.

    The bed was comfortable. The pub attached is characterful and (obviously) sells alcohol which is (obviously) a plus. Friendly staff upon check-in and throughout the evening in the pub. Breakfast was a good bonus, and was of a good quality, although I didn't realise it was included, so had already purchased and brought my own breakfast with me which turned out to be a waste of money. The hotel is in Duns Tew, which is ideal if you need to be in Duns Tew, as I did.
