Quiet, peaceful, great places for walking, mountain biking & great roads for driving in/out to all destinations. We stayed in a self catering cottage & glad we remembered to take everything as the nearest shop was a drive away. Kielder Forest had great facilities near the castle. Hindhope Linn waterfalls was great & our small dog enjoyed the walk too. The east coast was just over an hour away. We went on a boat trip to Farne Island & to see the seals. Bamburgh Castle & beach are fantastic & Holy Island is not too far. The north east is a great place to visit & isn’t crowded with us tourists 😆
