The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave that personal touch to the place The food was fantastic and it was conveniently located in the centre of town. Both the breakfast and evening meals were delicious. We were taken very good care of. We couldnt fault this place and next time we are in Bridgewater we'll be staying here. There is off street parking at the rear of the premises too. We were checked in by a lovely friendly young lady on night one who also looked after our food order, night two was Conor who was a lovely chap and each morning I think it was Danny who had everything ready for us as we had an early start, these really looked after us, thanks guys

Beautiful location. Peaceful quiet. Idyllic setting. Views of Fields and animals from every window. Beautiful property that has been styled to highlight its historic features but also be simple, practical and a pleasure to be in. The facilities were great. Beds were comfy. It was spacious and luxurious. Great for a family. We had everything we needed and instructions were clear. No issues throughout our stay. The pictures online don’t do it justice.

    Bridgwater is a sad place.

Bridgwater is a sad place. The river trade, upon which its very existence depends, is gone and Bridgwater is not developing a replacement economy. The few shops still open are quiet, charity shops or selling vapes or other useless trash. A depressing place to visit. I stopped here to find Somerset wicker basket sellers. They've gone online!

I had never been to Bridgwater before and was not very impressed with what I saw on my brief stay. It is very much like lots of other similar size locations - no interesting shops and too many fast-food outlets. The overall centre was rather sad and neglected but that is not too different to many other towns. Bridgwater reflects the situation in many British places - the High Street is nothing like it used to be.

Easy to get to off the M5 so a great location for nosing around the area. We went to Dunster Castle which was well worth the effort and another National Trust Property - Knightshayes near Tiverton - which is really stunning and you could easy make a day of it. We also spent a happy couple of hours at the Procktor Farm Car Boot plus several Antique Shops to browse. Only a couple of days away but we left knowing there is still more for us to do so we know we will be back.

Lots of roadworks at the moment, queues all through Bridgwater. Did not feel that I wanted to actually try to go into the Town as it was so congested. I realise this is temporary so would like to revisit the area again.

We are bird watchers, so it is an ideal location for the local RSPB reserves and Steart Marshes WWT is only 10mins away. Had an evening meal at the Malt Shovel. Large portions, reasonably priced and enjoyable.
