Amberley is a beautiful hotel in lovely grounds in a very pretty village. The service is fantastic and the rooms are lovely. The food is perfection, so although it’s very expensive, it is a real treat. I only have one word of advice. If you value your privacy in the lavatory, do not book Winchelsea room as there is no door between the bedroom and the bathroom. Lots of different spaces, including a garden that must be lovely in the summer. A quiet time of year, but lots of locals in and a real feeling of local pub (couple of entitled loud-mouths at one point, but I managed to move away). Food was top drawer, and even if Amberley ale is brewed 15 minutes' drive away it's a good pint if you like golden but not too hoppy. The hotel was excellent, stylishly decorated and situated in the really pretty village of Amberley. We had an evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant, the food was fantastic. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for visiting Arundel and the surrounding countryside.
