FAQs about hotels in Strasbourg

Crossroads of European Culture

Situated on the banks of the River Rhine, Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region of France. The medieval city centre, Grande Île, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and houses the glorious sandstone Strasbourg Cathedral and picturesque timber-framed buildings.

The Cathedral of Our Lady is the tallest medieval building in Europe and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture. It features a remarkable façade, one of the largest astronomical clocks in the world, stunning stained glass windows, and a terrace with panoramic city views.

Enjoy a pleasant walk in the medieval streets of the old town, or visit the charming Petite-France district. Here are some of the range of Strasbourg restaurants serving Alsatian specialities like beef and pork stew with potatoes and carrots, accompanied by local beer and regional white wine.

At the crossroads of European culture, cosmopolitan Strasbourg is home to numerous international organisations including the European Parliament, as well as one of the oldest European universities.

Strasbourg International Airport is easily reached from other international airports, so book your hotel, apartment or bed and breakfast through Booking.com and experience an unforgettable stay.

While it was rainy when we were is Strasbourg, we enjoyed walking around the historic centre which is compact and easily walkable for someone in their 80s as are my wife and I. We particularly liked place Kleber, around the corner from our hotel and the area around the cathedral.

Strasbourg is a fascinating place to visit and very easy to walk around. There are plenty of things to do and great places to eat. The cathedral is simply splendid and just across the square is the Palais Rohan- home to the bishops and kings who visited over a number of centuries- it was very quiet when we visited which made it even more special - with so few people we could actually imagine the history of the place centuries ago. The Batobus is inexpensive and takes you on a wonderful trip along the river past the European Parliament with an English commentary along the way- thoroughly enjoyable and we learned a lot about Strasbourg and its fascinating history!

It's a wonderful city with the mixture of German and French, old and new. So much to see - museums, gardens, European Parliament, cathedral, all within easy reach using the trams. My family is from Alsace so for me I was returning home to re-discover my ancestry. Of course more visits will be happening. Thank you dear Strasbourg!

A beautiful small city with a blend of gorgeous historic charm, and a genuine sense of a vibrant local community. The mixture of French and German influences is very unique, providing an experience distinct to other parts of France. The main cathedral is breathtaking, and the whole old town is a joy to explore. If you venture out a bit beyond the centre to L'Orangerie, Neustadt or Krutenau you can also get a feel for more residential areas and nightlife spots.

    Strasbourg is a must.

Strasbourg is a must. This time, we ( me and three teenagers) arrived at 22:00 and left at 10 am, but even then we enjoyed it: found gelato in front of the illuminated cathedral, wandered the charming streets late night and early morning, enjoyed breakfast then went on our way. Worth the hour detour to stay in the center of the old town! Gutenberg Parking is smack in the middle and has overnight parking.

    Strasbourg is a beautiful city.

Strasbourg is a beautiful city. I would highly recommend taking an organised boat tour around the circular city route. L'Onion restaurant in the old town was fab for local Alsation food and pretty resonably priced. Booking ahead for restaurants is essential as this is a very busy place.

This is a beautiful hotel in the centre of Strasbourg, we arrived early but that was not a problem they parked our car and kept our bags to place in our room later. The hotel is around a 6 minute walk from le petit France. There are also nice bars and restaurants in the area. The spa was lovely. The room was very large and the bed super comfortable. I would recommend for anyone who wants to treat themselves while in Strasbourg.

Location is great, close enough to the train station to be very practical, but far enough to not be bothered by it. Walking distance to the historical centre and Petite France. The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving recommendations for places to eat or visit. The hotel itself is quite beautiful with cozy social areas and the rooms were very clean and nicely decorated.

An absolute gem. Literally five minutes on foot from Strasbourg Central Station and a ten to fifteen minute walk from the Cathedral and Petite France areas. Really clean, lovely staff, very well equipped studios. The small but perfectly good indoor swimming pool in the basement is a super bonus in any season. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
