Saint-Jean-d'Angely is a very small town that seems a little...
Saint-Jean-d'Angely is a very small town that seems a little tired but it makes up for that with it's history and it's friendly people. Everyone I passed in the street greeted me with a 'Bonjour'. I found it the friendliest town I have ever visited in France. When we stayed the main/busiest bar was the Rum Runner bar. Very busy every night. We ate in the meat restaurant next door - make sure you are hungry as the portions were huge. Again, very friendly and welcoming. I understand there is a market 2 days of the week, which we sadly missed. I believe that the town is 'on the up & up' as it it about to become a Spa town, but I have not had that officially confirmed. I would visit again & again as I think there is more to explore in this town. Don't go if you want a busy night life. It's a small town. Quaint. Busier that some French hamlets and lovely & quiet to walk around. Has everything in terms of bars/restaurants/boulangerie/supermarkets.Guest review byJen Reading UKUnited Kingdom

The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and confortable with tea and coffee facilities. Delicious home made jams served at breakfast. House located within walking distance from the town center with plenty of restaurants and nice shops.
