    Wonderful city.

Wonderful city. Historic, wonderful architecture, museums and excellent food. Had 3.5 days there. 5 days would have been better. Good bus and metro system. Recommend getting a hotel near Metro line #1. Recommend staying in St. Germain du Pres, Latin Quarter or South Marais. Musee D'Orsey is phenomenal. Musee Moderne de Tokyo was an unexpected delight. Notre Dame was beautiful. Street food restaurant Mizon was unexpectedly good. Visited it 2 times. Chez Marie has an ice cream shop. Absolutely wonderful. Visited it 2 times. Possibly the best ice cream I have ever had. Coconut and Chocolate-orange flavors highly recommended.

We have visited several times over the years and felt that the Paris experience has deteriorated; it's being 'loved to death'. And expensive, as you would expect. Not bad just walking about, every five minutes you seem to find something interesting. If crowds deter one, think about the big parks and cemetery at the east end of the city. Having considered going round Notre Dame (you may be able to book free admission if you are lucky) it turned out that the crowds were horrendous. Don't bother, perhaps try again in 5 years. Musee d'Orsay is good and worth booking admission in advance but consider eating elsewhere. It's all quieter towards the end of the day. So on this 24 hour visit we ended up just going to gardens, using the Batobus: Tuileries (underwhelming), Luxembourg, Jardin des Plantes. Getting around: we walked for miles east to west and took a taxi back to the hotel. Metro or bus would be less costly but when you are tired out...

Cons, having to cue for long periods at most places we visited ie Disneyland rides, at the Louvre we had to wait for and hour and a half, but I don't know the reason why? Pros, People were very helpfull and tried to help even with the language barrier, most spoke some english. We went to Disneyland, the Louvre Museun and the Eiffel Tower was very good, We had a great Tour Guid named Joanna from Epic Toursand she was very knowledgable and accomodating. Could have spent much more time at each location.

The best thing is sitting down in one of the numerous cafes, which are present everywhere in Paris. Good food and pleasant atmosphere. To get around metro is most useful. You need to plan your trip a little bit, but when you master that it is very easy. Use Navigo easy pass. You should be very careful with thickets validation. My first attempt ended with paying a fine. Validation sensor doesn't work every time, but you can still walk through barrier and if you don't check, your ticket might not be validated. Visiting all the important sights is very tiresome. Lot of people and long cues. Industrial tourism. Even in the Moulin Rouge. Large crowd of tourists squeezed at very small tables, extremely uncomfortable, despite the bottle of champagne you might have bought. Fortunately they have the famous name and excellent show. The highlights beside the Moulin Rouge were Eiffel tower, Louvre, Notre Dame and Saint Chapel, museums de l'Orangerie and d'Orsay. All in all it was a beautiful week in Paris.

Paris changed a lot from 10y to now, I didn’t had good experiences before but now I can say it’s one of my favorites cities in Europe and I’m not even a city person. It’s safe, enjoyable, just good things to talk about Paris at the moment. Enjoy the night, the cafes, the walkings, feel safe.

We stayed in the Latin Quarter - would definitely recommend the quiet of the area, as the Metro was close and could then go out to the more touristy areas when we wanted to. We were a block away from Rue Mouffetard - do not miss this beautiful street market. It's sublime. Getting around Paris was easy with Metro, found it similar to NYC subways. The food was extraordinary, has changed my relationship with how I think about food - the pleasure of not just eating, but watching the Parisians shop daily for food. Luxembourg Gardens is a must as well as Musee Rodin. In four days, we could barely scratch the surface, but we spent more time just walking the neighborhoods. The architecture was stunning, and that was what I wanted to see and feel the most. Of course, a ride on the Seine is a must. I can't wait to go back.
