    This town is a perfect base to do the Normandy beaches, the museums and the Normandy countryside. Plenty of places to eat and quite a useful bus service along the coast. Not as touristy as some other places along the coast. Very near Point du Hoc, where the American Rangers stormed the coast. Well worth a visit but quite a walk although mostly flat and not much shelter on the way around. The museums in Vire Sur Mer and Omaha beach are interesting. The Calvados producer along that road is worth a visit as he has his own stories about the landings and the history of his property.

    We visited here in the 1990s with our then young children and it was a thriving seaside resort with lots of bars and restaurants and a lovely family hotel This is now closed and out of season the town looked a bit run down However its location is excellent for visiting the Normandy beaches so happy to have stayed there

    Tour Eiffel, Norte dame even though not open until Dec 8 was Amazing to see under construction and what they have done. Eating in district. 7 was delicious. Norman helped point out good choices! Hard to follow directions around town so jumped in cab to get us home at nighttime.

    Ideal location for exploring D Day museums and beaches but not much there. Supermarket is useful. Restaurants only open in season others limited opening, cafe bar closes early. Town has pharmacy and Crepe bar, few minimal gift shops. Not much there.

    Stayed with my family, a base to see the dday beaches. very spacious, safe parking and nice pool although we didn't get time to use. nice balcony with room for 6 to sit at. ate at fab seafood restaurant but plenty of other options.

    If total relaxation and a peaceful environment is what you need, this has it all. Chateau appeal and good walking distance to everything really makes La Faisanderie such a wonderful and destination. Dominic and Elliot host the property and go above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We will return and stay longer next time

    A beautiful location in the quiet countryside, yet only a 5min drive from Grandcamp-Maisy (restaurants/bar) It is also conveniently located near Point Du Hoc, Utah beach and Saint-mere-Eglise. A very big garden to relax in, and parking in front of your room. Nice bonus were the friendly horses across the entrance of the property. The hostess was very friendly, accomodating and tried her best to speak english to us. The highlight for me was the breakfast! Everything is prepared for you, it was all fresh and i think local produce.

    Grandcamp-Maisy was the ideal location for our visit because all but one of the DDay Landing beaches were to our east (Utah Beach was to our west). The town itself is just lovely, a small sleepy port location, a couple of really good restaurants and easy to get to Mont St Michel too (which we hadn't planned on visiting but it was so close). It's a clean apartment with a kitchen stocked with everything you'd need to cook from 'home' (other than an actual large cutting knife!).

    An incredibly pleasant and comfortable place to relax during the D-day tour. Very convenient location (Utah Beach is about 30 minutes by car, Omaha Beach is 15 minutes). The hotel is very authentic and stylish. Breakfast was just great. The owner of the hotel, Monsieur Dominique, deserves special words of admiration and gratitude. Monsieur, thank you so much for your fantastic hospitality! I hope to see you again one wonderful day.
