Hotel Hanasaari is not far from Helsinki, yet it feels nice and secluded. We were there in winter and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. The room was warm and comfortable. We were only there for one night and did not have time to use all of the facilities.

Perfect weekend getaway from Helsinki. The staff was extremely friendly and were doing this with their whole heart. Sustainability matters were clearly considered. It was also great to hear how in many ingredients Finnish / local products were favored. We enjoyed the breakfast plate and casual dinner. A cherry on the top was the morning sauna and being so close to hiking trails.

Great location, just by a lake. Good leisure facilities (swimming pool, access to lake to swim, sauna). Great for families: play room for young kids, small pool for kids, good walks around the hotel. The food at the restaurant was good, with friendly staff. Separate table with gluten free options for breakfast.

Where Countryside and the Capital Meet

The green and fast developing city of Espoo is located on the shores of the Gulf of Finland. It is a popular, tranquil and laid back location for travellers visiting Helsinki.

    We stayed in Espoo for one night,then stayed four in...

    We stayed in Espoo for one night,then stayed four in Helsinki. It was the best way of enjoying the snow (being Irish it is a novelty )and enjoying the peaceful forest surrounding the hotel. It was a great start to our christmas break before going into the city. It was magical and I did a morning hike around the grounds of the hotel. My sons and I loved it.

    Espoo is the most prosperous and safest area in Finland. The reason for that is that 40% of Espoo's population has a university degree. The best area of the city is by the sea in the middle of nature.

    My son said this hotel was the very definition of coziness. The staff were very friendly, talkative, and helpful. There was a big group having an event the day we were there and we had a fantastic dinner with the same menu as them. The room was simple but tasteful with a balcony facing the beautiful snowy landscape and a sweet forest aroma, and what a comfy bed! The next morning: great breakfast! The lodge is located in the natural park and easily accessible from Helsinki. We loved our stay and surely come back the next winter.

    The hotel is in an extremely accessible location on top of a metro station. The rooftop terrace with views over the surroundings was great. The breakfast was delicious. There is a big and modern swimming pool right next door if you want to go swimming, and a big shopping center if you want to do shopping or eat out. Our room faced the inner courtyard and was extremely quiet.

    Hotel from 70’s at a location next to a lake. It is nicely incorporated in the landscape. The location is outside Helsinki so car is useful. Our room was big with very comfortable beds. The restaurant was really chique with good food but not really for couples with young child :) The breakfast was excellent!

    Well-equipped and clean cottage, perfect for three persons. Beautiful location that is easy to reach either by car or by bus from Helsinki/Espoo. The host was very friendly and available in case of questions. I can definitely recommend a stay.

    The hotel is based in the business area in Espoo. It’s a big and modern style hotel. The room was clean and big. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. It’s fairly easy to get to Helsinki airport from the nearby bus stop.
