The staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The owner agreed to move the breakfast offering to a half hour earlier so I could get to my ferry crossing in plenty of time. The ‘suite’ (room 8 on the top floor) was very comfortable. Dinner was fabulous, featuring local fare which was very well prepared and MOST REASONABLY PRICED. I chose the most expensive dishes on the menu, ate four courses, drank a bottle of Moët et Chandon (it was my birthday) and the bill, with an aperitif and coffee to follow, was under a hundred euros. Any ‘normal’ person would spend a LOT LESS The location is way outside of town. So if you want to sight-see in Santander I’d recommend you stay nearer the centre. HOWEVER, if you’re just staying overnight to catch the ferry to the UK next day it’s ideally located. In light traffic you can make the journey in 20mins. One local road, one short blast down the motorway, turn right once the motorway ends, and you’re there. There’s ample parking right outside, a lively bar frequented by locals, and quiet seating areas.

Our stay was fabulous. We knew from the description that the location was in the countryside- it was and has outstanding views of the hills and Santander bay. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Since it is a few kilometres to local restaurants we had lunch in Santander and sat having a beer in the garden watching the sunset. Breakfast was a great value additional purchase. We will visit again.

The location was perfect for the Rallye Festival Hoznayo, the rooms were spoiltlessly clean, the atmosphere was good, the service and amenities were exceptional and the Spanish people were very helpful. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to family and friends. Viva España 🥰😍

    We had hoped to eat at the restaurant just round the corner...

    We had hoped to eat at the restaurant just round the corner but it was closed when we were there. We ate every day at Bar El Rojo in Pamanes. Has to be the friendliest bar we have been to in Spain. Their tortilla is to die for (best we have eaten) and very reasonably priced, as are the drinks - no ripping off holiday makers. We stayed at this place for easy access for the Cabarceno animal park (15 minutes). We bought an annual pass and visited three days. We would avoid going there at the weekend as it is super busy. We did go there Saturday unfortunately. We decided not to go on Sunday and had intended to have a day of rest but in the end decided to drive around the area which turned out to be an excellent idea as the scenery is beautiful. La Cavada, Arredondo, Ramales de la Victoria, La Gandara, La Pedrosa and back via Lierganes (the last section from Ramales being especially good).
