We LOVED Fűssen!
We LOVED Fűssen! The old charm feel, the energetic cafe night time vibe, the many walking/biking paths to explore the area and the quaint neighborhood charm made it a wonderful destination. I wish we stayed longer. We ate at Ludwig’s and sat in the Swan seats. The food was delicious and the inside decor was charming. We also rode our bikes to Neuschwanstein Castle which was 15-20 minutes away. Fussen is very near to Castle Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castle. There are many restaurants in town, though most close up around 8pm in the summer. There are grocery stores in walking distance that have a wide selection of products. The buses are very functional and accessible, though they can get overwhelmed by the number of passengers going to/from the Schwangau castles.Guest review byMichaelUnited States - 10.0
What a gem of a town!
What a gem of a town! I came for a race by myself and wish I had made it a family trip. The castles nearby would have been a lovely family excursion, there was a cheese shop the town just a few minutes away. Füssen was fabulous and far better than I expected, recommend hiring an E bike, going round the lake and the riding round the old town, it is beautiful. Three nights was perfect for us.
