    This is a great little town for walking in the Harz...

    This is a great little town for walking in the Harz mountains or attending the week long horse racing festival - another must for followers of our equine friends. Plenty restaurants and great weather in July - take shorts and plenty of sun tan lotion. I really really enjoyed this town - its got character

    Excellent base for exploring the Harz Mountains.

    Excellent base for exploring the Harz Mountains. Many trails nearby of varying difficulty. Bus pass included with the local tax so rides around town and between towns were free. Many places to eat/drink. Our favorite was the Biergarten im unteren Badepark. Bad Harzburg is only fifteen minutes by train or bus from Goslar Altstadt.

    A curious little town with pretty parks and a pedestrian...

    A curious little town with pretty parks and a pedestrian boulevard alongside a river. There are plenty of birds around, including white-throated dippers (Wasseramseln) feeding in the stream, and easy access to restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, and ATM. The town is a starting point for a number of hikes into some very beautiful terrain; recommended particularly is the Luchstour but if you actually want to see a lynx, best to try the Luchsgehege beside the Rabenklippe restaurant (recommend a scrumptious lunch on the balcony with a stunning view). It's a bit unfortunate that a major trucking artery runs through the town and into the Harzwald; the noise pollution can detract from the overall experience depending on where you are and which way the wind is blowing.

    Location: right by some great hiking trails in Bad Harzburg, 5-10 min on foot into town, all the tourist attractions are close by, if you drive somewhere, you're immediately on the main street to Torfhaus (Brocken), Braunlage etc. Lobby: very chic and hip lobby area Staying with a pet: cute little set up with a bowl and treats Breakfast: big variety and choice Modernization: Some things have been updated in rooms, coffee maker with good coffee in the room, a hiking map provided by the hotel Water: free water if you skip room service

    A really nice stay in Bad Harzburg. Although the location is a little bit far from downtown area (some 20min walk), the facilities and the decorations are pleasant and enjoyable. There is a clean kitchen with oven and fridge, you can store fruits or water inside.

    The hotel was in a beautiful old building. Covid prevention measures were taken seriously. The buffet breakfast was one of the nicest I've had on holiday in Germany. I was especially pleased that the coffee pot was refilled several times!
