Visited for hiking to Balkan Mts, Botev Peak.
Visited for hiking to Balkan Mts, Botev Peak. Enjoyed our stay and the mountain. Imposing Socialist monument at the centre of the town. Nice restaurant at the very center. Nice draft beer and nice surrounding. Other restaurants of Kalofer were closed at the afternoon. We were surprised with the road network of Bulgaria which is in very good condition. We were in Kalofer during the regional rose festival.
We were in Kalofer during the regional rose festival. Lots of festivities and people dancing in traditional dress. The museum of bobbin lace was quite interesting. The old school house has also been turned into a museum. Lovely revival style architecture.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 6.0
I think tourists outside of Bulgaria should come prepared...
I think tourists outside of Bulgaria should come prepared with all the information they need about the hikings and siteseeing in Kalofer. We had a bit of trouble managing as we relied on local tourist information center but could'nt find it. Local people were extremely nice, but some didn't speak English. The Balkan park is stunning but roads are rough if you're not in a high 4×4, and trails are lacking signs in English.Guest review byAVIVIsrael

Each bedroom has its own electric heater and there is a fireplace in the living room. The house has everything one needs for a nice and relaxing stay. The check-in was smooth and the lady who welcomed us - very friendly. The location of the house is also fantastic. We found a couple restaurants in the center and fresh hot pastry in the morning for breakfast. There is a museum of bobbin lace in the village which my wife found to be quit interesting.
