This is an exceptional place to stay, easily one of the best I have stayed at in over 50 countries. The manager here is the definition of exceptional customer service, so caring, helpful, easy-going and patient. He showed me the room's facilities in detail, arranged breakfast, brought me some delicious local dolma to try in the evening and helped with transport. They have a wonderful, atmospheric restaurant/cafe on site, serving heaps of tasty food such as kebabs, soups, dumplings, pizza, burgers, and fantastic sushi which was a nice surprise. Coffee is great here too. The guesthouse has balconies and a big common room, and the room was very comfortable and well appointed. It's within easy walking distance of the picturesque central park, the fortress, large Aliyev Park and the main square where the marshrutka to Balakan depart from. Zaqatala is well worth a stop on your itinerary, and this is a perfect place to stay.

This is a great place to stay, it is a bit out of the town but taxis are easy to find & cheap. The staff are wonderful, really kind, helpful & friendly. The room was spacious with a nice bathroom & a lovely hot shower. The supermarket downstairs was very handy & useful.
