The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel is a Grade II listed property nestled within unspoilt countryside and 5 minutes’ drive from a scenic coastal walk. We were in the area for one night and were delighted to find this gem! We live in Germany so staying in a country pub/hotel is always a treat for us, and this did not disappoint. We have 2 little dogs who were very welcome in both the pub and the room (and were even given treats and a cheeky sausage by the wonderful staff!). Our check in was smooth and we were able to book a table for dinner with ease. The staff were all super attentive and engaging. The room was comfortable and was everything we needed - even if the bed was a tad small, it still provided us with a solid nights sleep. However, without a doubt, the pinnacle of this stay was the food!! It was EXCEPTIONAL! And this is not exceptional for a pub, it was exceptional compared to anything! The duck was genuinely one of the best cooked and tastiest we’ve ever had! We’ve already recommended it to people and we are seeing how we can visit again on our next visit. Whether you stay for a night or not, the food HAS to be tried! Book a table and thank us later!

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Harbour view cottage, clovelly offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. Excellent view of the harbour from our room. The cottage is 700+ years old and may be the oldest in the village. The host was lovely and accommodating. She made us a good full English breakfast. Sooo quiet and peaceful with no cars in the village. The other guests were lovely -- all hikers walking the SW coast path.

Set in Exeter within 6.4 km of Sandy Park Rugby Stadium and 27 km of Newton Abbot Racecourse, Melbury Rooms & Studios offers rooms with free WiFi. Fantastic location - pleasantly situated opposite a park, but within walking distance of town centre and all amenities. Also, I was able to wash and dry my clothes.

The Ley Arms is set in Exeter, 11 km from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium, 16 km from Newton Abbot Racecourse, as well as 6.1 km from Powderham Castle. Great location 15 minutes from the airport, in an exceptionally beautiful part of England. I had a lovely walk on the public paths in the hills before dinner. Cosy, lovely, pub, great staff, beautiful and comfortable suite. The food and drinks in the pub were super, too. I had dinner and breakfast here.

Featuring water sports facilities, a terrace, and a bar, North Walk House offers accommodation in Lynton with free WiFi and sea views. The room was well decorated and well furnished, with two lovely chairs in the bay window overlooking the sea. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was lovely and spacious. Breakfast offered a lot of choice and the foot was great. The couple who run the place were also lovely. There is a sister hotel just 100m down the road where you can also order an evening meal, which gave us generous portions. I also love the honesty bar. It felt very homely and more like an apartment as we also had use of the guest lounge as well. Would thoroughly recommend.

Located in Colyton, 24 km from Golden Cap, The Old Bakehouse features rooms with quiet street views and free WiFi. It is situated 40 km from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium and provides bicycle parking. Very friendly welcome by Steve. Very clean, comfortable and quiet room with lovely view out front. Excellent full English breakfast. And: Steve even asked us witch music (from his vinyl collection) we would like to accompany our breakfast 😃.

Offering a garden and garden view, Corndonford farm is situated in Newton Abbot, 27 km from Newton Abbot Racecourse and 44 km from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium. So charming and the personal attention was amazing. They lit a fire in the living room area and even picked some lettuce from their garden for us to enjoy with our dinner. We loved our stay here.

Located in Exmouth and only 700 metres from Exmouth Beach, Malindi bed and breakfast provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Very friendly hosts (Debbie and Ben). Clean, comfortable and quiet room with a sea view. Tasty breakfast. We’ll come back if we’re ever in the area again!

Set in Ilfracombe and only 1.3 km from Ilfracombe, The Devonshire Villa offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Very nice and comfortable B&B, breakfast was incredible and Amanda and Matt were very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend and we'd definitely return!

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Horsemans Close is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Kingsbridge, 38 km from Newton Abbot Racecourse. It’s a very clean, comfortable house with great sized bedrooms and bathrooms. The house is located close to the town, which was perfect for dinners etc. The beds were very comfortable as well. The hosts were fantastic; they even went out of their way to buy some hot chocolate for breakfast for us. The breakfasts were superb. Would highly recommend this property and will definitely return.
