Hotel Nordurljos features a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Raufarhöfn. Note this is just a hotel room with no mini fridge or microwave or tea kettle. It was definitely comfortable and spacious room. The hotel does have a restaurant and bar. The staff at the hotel are outstanding! They helped me with all my requests without hesitation. That is why I gave them a 10! There is really nothing to do in this town, it makes a good quick stop but not much more. Keep going to the East Fjords!

Beautiful house with very well equiped kitchen. Big bonus - hot tubs outside plus beach in front, where we took a cold dip to the sea. What is more, there are extra towels and even swimming suits in a bathroom which you can use for hot tubs, in case forgot your own.

Located in Skinnastadir, Dettifoss Guesthouse is 25 km north of Dettifoss Waterfall. It offers simple, modern rooms with shared bathrooms. WiFi and parking are free. Awesome guesthouse that taught me that shared bathrooms can be better than private bathrooms, and shared kitchens can be better than private kitchens. Very warm, spacious, and beautiful room with sink. If you are planning to stay in this area, if there are any rooms left, make sure to book first. The owner is also very pretty and kind.
