Venice is extremely crowded these days and our hotel provided a beautiful and calm stay, off the beaten path but steps from a great shopping street that had great restaurants. An easy walk to Rialto, la Piazza SAN Marco and the train station but away from the hordes.
Surrounded by the vegetation of Punta del Pecoraro, the Sunbay Park Hotel is 1 km from the Porto Riva di Traiano Marina, is 60 km from Rome's GRA ring road.

Very close to the cruise port bus shuttle. East walking distance.
Owners very helpful with printing some documents needed for the cruise.
Spotlessly clean.

Emplacement
Beautiful and quiet town. Everything within walking distance. Favorite place for quick bite was Mastro Titta Pizza within two blocks of Airbnb.
I would recommend staying longer as there is much to do it Civitavecchia. We missed walking along the Harbor, visiting Fort Michaelangelo, and the beaches.
We read about direct Shuttles to the Airport, none were available the day we left because no cruise ships were arriving in Port. Car Service was expensive. We ended up taking the Train, which was not as convenient but not bad at all and at a fraction of the cost!

Of note: there was No Kleenex, NO WiFi password, no shampoo or soap for shower and NOI place in the shower to put such except on the floor, NOT enough signage to locate the building, room, door. NO USB ports, there was an ice bucket, but NO ice, NO towel racks or shelves in the bathroom, NO air conditioning.

The hotel is an outstanding location for pre-cruise travellers as the location is just a few steps away from Largo della Pace where cruisers pick up the free shuttle to the cruise terminal. Just roll your luggages along the sidewalk then across the street onto the ramp towards area where the shuttle awaits.

Small city. Older buildings and infrastructure.
Small city. Older buildings and infrastructure. Uneven paved sidewalks, some graffiti but seemed very safe. Just an older Italian town that’s packed fairly tight. Lots of dining options, but hours are different from what Americans are used to.

We did not stay long enough to get to know it well enough...
We did not stay long enough to get to know it well enough but what I saw was great. I would advise anyone travelling to a hotel in town and coming off the Barcelona ferry not to use the Sat Nav until well into the centre. It is likely to take you through the port to a controlled gate which you will not be allowed to pass and you will be sent back. Just follow signs to the centre then switch on Sat Nav when well clear of the port.
Lorin and Rita could not have been nicer. Rita makes the pastry for the continental breakfast. They were very helpful. It is right in the heart of everything. We felt safe. You can walk everywhere there once you park. It is a port where ships come in. You need to be a B & B person, only 5 rooms and it is a shared kitchen. AC was the best on our 2-week trip to Italy. The TV has Netflix in English do not have to fight with the TV. we had 2 of 5 rooms that had nice balconies facing the ocean. There is a lounge below that has live music.
Great staff with a great location for the cruiser. (just a few steps to catch a shuttle to the cruise port around the corner).
Easy walk to many sights seen locations, fresh markets, bars and authentic restaurants. Highly recommend the Pizza next door with pizza made to order right in front of your eyes.
Hotel staff provided many unforgettable personal touches, Joseph(Josepe), Michele (Michael), the lady makes cafe latte just to name a few.
We would definitely stay with them, if we are back to Civitavecchia again in the future.
very clean, comfortable-very close to port and the town Centro storico…we are curious about why it has only 2 stars, most of the other places in Italy like this were 4 stars. we didn’t care about having an ocean view because we came from a cruise. the hostess was exceptionally helpful,Ana. the breakfast has most everything, fresh espresso or capuchino, croissant’s, toast, prociutto, ham, cheese etc, sweets, fresh fruit, yogurt-cereal, juice etc. they don’t have a big kitchen so they do only boiled eggs.
The very personable host met us right after we landed at Rome FCO Airport and for a reasonable fee drove us to the apartment in Civitavecchia. The apartment is very close to the cruise port and easy walking distance to the cruise port shuttle bus stop. It is also located less than a mile from the train station where we caught a train into Rome for a DIY excursion the day before our ship sailed. The apartment was very neat and clean and well stocked with goodies for breakfast.
We loved everything about our stay at Hotel Porto Di Roma and Civitavecchia. The location was perfect, the facilities were excellent, the breakfast was delicious and the hotel was spotlessly clean. The hosts could not have been more kind and helpful. They also organised transfers with excellent and informative drivers. We loved exploring the beautiful old city of Civitavecchia - great history, buildings, restaurants, shopping, markets and views.
Ideal for a short stay. Location fabulous - less than five minute walk to Civitavecchia train station which is great when travelling into Rome each day. If you're staying here due to a cruise holiday and need a room close to the port for a night or two, you won't go far wrong with this one as it does the job. Rooms are spacious and clean, good TV access and room cleaned daily. Breakfast was very nice and reasonably priced.
Very Clean, great breakfast with both continental, and american style foods. In a good locations ,only a few yards from the train station, and bus depot for the port shuttle. Room was better than average for this style of hotel. View of beach was wonderful from window. They were able to store out luggage until check in so we could wander around the port. Staff was very helpful.
This was the absolute best memory of Italy! Perfect! Great location walked to shopping suer clean an quiet. Very comfortable bed. Fresh croissants and scrumptious coffee. I just loved it. We should have stayed there for 3 weeks and skipped the cruise. Seriously! I loved the evenings with the beautiful families enjoying the music and restaurants. Absolutely incredible!
Excellent location. Excellent staff. The windows are very awkward to look outside and dangerous to try to lock the shutters.
The entrance is beautiful but going up the stairs is challenging for people with, even slight, mobility issues. We used to go to the Hotel De La Ville. and this time it was the price that made us choose San Georgio.
Knowing ahead of time it was an older hotel, it exceeded our expectations! Breakfast was great and location is superb! Boardwalk is in the front of the building, train station a few meters away and restaurants. They arranged a shuttle for us to the cruise terminal. If given a chance would stay here again. Highly recommend.
Very nicely renovated appartment in a very central location, few meters away from major nightlife area. Pam supermarket nearby, and many wonderful beaches just 10-15kms away by car. We stayed in Rome in 4* and 5* hotels, but loved our stay Civitavecchia more :-) And big thank you to Paolo, who was super helpful!
Very good place to stay. The room was clean and close to the center but in calm area. We loved the garden and our dog can use it without problem. The owner was also kind. Best dog friendly place where we stay ever. Rome just 1 hour from there by car and Toscana region close too.
Flavia was very welcoming. Room was comfy and spotless. Location was great although I did have a little trouble finding it as I forgot it was a B&B not a hotel so the signs were not as visible. All in all a great B&B for my one night stay before my cruise.
Since we are in love with Italy, this place is absolutely beautiful. The hosts are very kind and very good. Hospitality, meticulousness and professionalism are the characteristics of these people and we will definitely come next year.
Flavia was wonderful. Answered all our questions. Easy check in and check out. She even arranged transport for us from Civitavecchia to Vatican city. And the view from our window was just amazing!
Located near Cruise Terminal. Only a $6 eur bus ride to the Royal Caribbean cruise terminal. Breakfast was outstanding! Good restaurants nearby. Awesome view of the beach and ocean.
Both Simone and Eugenio are really kind and help you in everything. It is the best place to stay if you're to cruise starting in Civitavecchia.
I really recommend this place.
