The Czech capital is nothing short of magical, with Prague’s countless bridges, cathedrals, domes and castles reflected in the Vltava River. Thankfully the city escaped most of WWII’s destruction, leaving the rich history and fairytale façade of this Bohemian city intact.
Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the St. Vitus Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral’s lookout tower rewards those willing to climb 300 steps with the best view of the city.
Walking through the cobblestone streets of the Mala Strana district will bring you to the Charles Bridge. Prague’s beautiful 14th-century monument buzzes with musicians and local crafts sales. The Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church, and Storch building of Old Town compete for popularity with the neoclassical Estate Theatre and the Czech National Museum.
The cafes and restaurants of Wenceslas Square are great for people watching and the Franz Kafka house, the Old New Synagogue and Frank Gehry’s Dancing House are perfect for soaking up history.
Flights arriving at Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport will be in the city centre after a short subway ride. For historic hotels, cheap hostels or charming apartments head to Booking.com for nearly 700 accommodations in Prague.
I have been to Prague many times as it is my favourite city.
I have been to Prague many times as it is my favourite city. Everything is within walking distance or easily accessible by metro or tram. Entries to museums are cheap and it is worth going. For good traditional Czech cuisine, visit Restaurace U Vejvodů, but most places serve good food.
A must is to visit Vysherad! So much Czech history, and mythology and the view is amazing!

For those fascinated by vintage cars and trams, this destination is a must-visit. With numerous architectural marvels and ample opportunities for exploration over two days, it's an ideal spot. Expect bustling crowds, yet you'll find that shops and services readily accommodate English speakers. Currency exchange was unnecessary, as credit cards were widely accepted.

A beautiful city where the visitor can wander around freely feeling perfectly safe without any hassle! Booked two tours with 100 Spires. They're really good knowledgeable tour guides. Pay nothing up front and at the end of the tour pay them what you feel is a fair reflection of the quality of the tour. Both tours gave us a massive amount of detail regarding the history of the Czech Republic. Also thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Salvatore Boutique Hotel. A fully vegan hotel with lovely comfortable en-suite rooms and a great vegan restaurant called Palo Verde. Would definitely revisit as it's only 5 minutes walk to Wencelas Square and no more than 30 minutes to the Charles Bridge or Castle. So we ate at Dosa Dosa cafe - had a great Penang curry followed by cake! We ate at Strecha - again another fully vegan restaurant. The food was top notch at both places. Prague is truly vegan friendly and clearly trying to become a sustainable city too. We travelled on the tram one day. Its easy to purchase a ticket (free for over 65s and half price for 60 and over) from a yellow machine at the metro stations. Just pay for a ticket in time slots I.e. 30 minutes is 30 CZK about a pound in sterling. Longer time slots work out cheaper.

Adjusting the room temperature wasn’t easy. Air condition may have a problem.
I would expect slippers to be provided in the room.

עיר נחמדה ותוססת, מלאה במקומות בילוי ואתרים.
מספיקה ליומיים שלוש, לא יותר.
אחלה פתרון לסופ"ש (גם לדתיים)
A nice and lively city, full of entertainment places and sites.
Enough for two or three days, no more.
A great solution for the weekend (also for religious people)
Fantastic helpful Paval made us reassured about everything, arranged a taxi from the airport and greeted us on our arrival with lots of helpful advice and information. The room was large with a bath and huge bed , a kettle and mini fridge. Location is perfect right near the Old Town square. Breakfast at Bond cafe offered wonderful plant based milk porridge and tofu toasties for us vegans 🌱. Would definitely recommend this place as an authentic residence if you prefer that rather than a modern hotel .
The breakfast is great, including lots of delicious local food/drinks and various other regular options as well. In addition, the location of the hotel is very closed to the old town square, so you can easily walk to all kinds of restaurants/bars, stores, and sightseeing. Most of important is their staff. I left my drone in the hotel room after I checked out. I emailed their staff and they took care of it by FedEx with tracking number provided to me. I greatly appreciated their help.
Lovely hotel, rooms were spotless and large. We booked a triple and we had plenty of space.
Breakfast was good with a variety of choices.
Hotel is close to the Old Town, took us about 15min walk to get to the Astronomical Clock.
Plenty of small corner shops around.
An exchange is close by and the rate was the best we could find compared to city centre. As you turn right going out from the hotel you'll find it in about 300-400m.
My room had a beautiful view of the Vltava River. It was breathtaking. The hotel is conveniently located to just about everything. From here, I visited the Old Town Square; walked the Charles Bridge; and, grabbed a Hop On/Hop Off bus. The breakfast each morning was very nice. The staff were wonderful. I also took day trips to Kutna Hora and to Terezin. Both were powerfully educational.
we stayed here for 2 nights. the hotel is very closed to the old town square like 3 min walk, and also to the Charles bridge.
the rooms are wide and big, very clean and very organized. big and clean bathroom.
there’s a restaurant inside the hotel also we tried Mexican food there and it was so good 🤤🤤 I will recommended this hotel to my family and friends.
The hotel is very close to the old town square and many sights, as well as numerous restaurants and bars are in walking distance. The rooms are clean and spacious. Also, the Staff ist amazing! They are helpful and friendly and get out of their way to ensure everyone has a perfect stay. Whenever we come back to Prague, we'll definitely stay there again.
We liked EVERYTHING!!! the hotel is new, fantastic location - walking distance to old town square, supermarket within a minute walk, cafes, restaurants, tourist tours, shopping mall. And everyone on staff made our stay even more enjoyable! And the room: beautiful, comfy, cleaner than clean. We will miss Prague for sure!
The Josephine Old Town Square Hotel is middle of the price range in Prague’s old town. The hotel staff, especially Iana was very polite and efficient. The hotel itself is very central, clean, and attractive. The extras in the room including a bottle of red wine, as well as tea and coffee making facilities are great!
beautiful hotel, busy but not too busy - great breakfast selection and nice bar/restaurant - easy access to the old town square, very helpful staff and a few nice complimentary touches - and best of all they rearranged the booking several times due to the pandemic with no quibbles whatsoever.
- Diverse and nice breakfast;
- Perfect location: only 10 minutes by walk to the old town square;
- Close to metro and tram stations (in front of the hotel); also close to malls, kiosks, grocery stores etc.
- Parking lot underground (extra ~20 euro);
Everything is perfect, stylish room, super clean, comfortable bed. Location couldn’t be better, I’d say the best in Praha. It’s very near to Old Town Square and major attractions minus the noise and crowd.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
Super friendly, clean and quiet hotel. The room was spacious, and bed very large and very comfortable.
Location is perfect - a few minutes walk from the metro station in one direction, a few minutes walk to the old town square in the other!
Excellent central location only a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square and close to the Metro and tram stops. Peaceful without much noise despite the city centre location, as the hotel is located on a side street away from main roads.
One the best location to stay in Prague i appreciate the hotel staff and there welcome style specially. Its on very prime location 2 minutes walk only to old town square and famous places in Prague. I would recommend everyone.
Location was excellent right off of the Old Town square, yet Hotel Dar is tucked away on a quaint side street. We dined at the hotel restaurant and excellent breakfasts each morning. We also loved the rooftop terrace!
