It is said that abundance in Mendoza was so great at the beginning of the 20th century, that the Wine Festival was celebrated pouring this elixir in the city’s fountains and street-side irrigation canals. Located at Mount Aconcagua’s footstep, the city is an oasis in the middle of the dry beauty of the central Argentinean Andes.
Originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, the colonial city was founded in 1561. The irrigation system created by the natives was further developed and became an icon of the city, currently watering near 100,000 trees. The design of the central district includes squares and avenues, and has some of the best luxury hotels in Mendoza.
It is surrounded by vineyards and cellars producing world-class wines. Don’t miss the renowned Malbec variety, and try some of the boutique hotels and rural ‘estancias’ in Mendoza’s wine areas.
Its historic relevance comes from the fact that Argentinean hero José de San Martín prepared here his pioneering crossing of the Andes in 1817, aimed to liberate Chile. This amazing trip with mules and on foot is repeated every year by a group of enthusiasts. The area is actually well-known for mountain sports like hiking, rafting, and skiing.

Mendoza is seems a beautiful city with wide road with huge trees make the place gorgeous. People in general are nice and helpful , plenty places to discover , many activities. I really like Mendoza but never the less the city is to relax shops are completely close Sunday which iis not suitable if you go for weekend and need to buy something. Hotels are expensive and poor services . I would say don’t come to Mendoza just jet until thing improve

Mendoza is a great location for food & wine lovers. Great vineyards are close by, as is the option to experience a ‘Gaucho’ horse ride & dinner up in the Andes. Lovely town centre with beautiful parks. Great place to visit!

Mendoza was a lovely city, with almost every street having big shade trees. It felt safe to walk around in, with lots of people out in the evening, and so many places to choose from to eat, often all in the same location on both sides of the street for several blocks, so all you have to do is pick one. There's a lot of variation in the quality of the places available to stay, so I would recommend one with a lot of good reviews. There are also a lot of good tours available, to vineyards, horseback riding, the Andes mountains, and more. We were excited to see wild guanacos (a type of llama) at a couple of places in the older, lower mountains!

There are only two cities in the world that I have liked visiting. One is Vienna Austria and the other is Mendoza. I had no idea that I would like the city as much as I did. Tree lined streets and very clean for the most part unlike other cities I have been to. The people were very nice. All the large cities in the USA are awful in this present day. Not Mendoza. I would go back just to spend more time there. You can have New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, etc. Mendoza is well worth a visit.

What I like Mendoza are the amazing tall trees along the streets.
Beautiful parks…plaza independencia (big one)…and there are smaller parks…plaza espana, plaza chile, plaza Italy, plaza San Martin.
There lots of ice cream shops..cheap.
718 Rufino Petit Hotel is located in one of the best residential areas in Mendoza. The neighborhood is very quiet and nice. A few minutes distance to Mendoza downtown if you take an Uber or Cabify. The room and bathroom were very modern, comfortable and ultra clean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable... The staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful, all of them! Breakfast was very good as well, with a variety of fruits and breads to choose. I strongly recommend this place. I really had a pleasant stay and I will come back.
Everything about Ayres home is fantastic. Comfortable, secure, clean, and modern with all the amenities you could ask for including welcome wine, fresh flowers, and baked goods. The hosts Fernando and Patricia are amazing. Warm, generous, and available to their guests for information and requests. It’s close to bus routes and an easy 15 minute walk to the centre of the city. A washing machine to catch up on laundry, parking if you have a car, cleaning included, and a lovely deck to enjoy the warm air of Mendoza.
Second time in Mendoza, second time in this hotel. Amazing place, great activities and rooms, casino, cinema, excursions, restaurants and pool. Great underground parking with special places for guests, completely free. Personal is friendly and kind, gave us a tip how to exchange the money now (there is great exchange rate in casino, but to change dollars or euro you need to buy casino tickets in the cashier desk, then put into slot machine and collect vouchers, that you can exchange for pesos on the cashier).
The Hyatt Mendoza epitomises supreme comfort, luxury and service in the most central location overlooking Mendoza’s town square. We had the feeling we were in the best hotel in the city. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke English fluently, but allowed me to practice my fledgling Spanish with them! We had our most restful stay of our entire tour of Argentina at this hotel - with its luxurious beds in seriously comfortable rooms. We felt completely at home while bathing in luxury.
The location of the apartment was great. Quiet area across from park but near to everything, shops, restaurants, parks, landmarks, public transit, etc. The unit itself was roomy and tidy with nice views. The host, Daniel, is extremely helpful and accommodating. He really went out of his way to make you feel welcome and provided valuable information and recommendations so you could enjoy everything Mendoza has to offer. Price was very cost-effective.
Location was perfect for us as we were just passing through for a night Mendoza on our way to Chile - access to the highway was quick and it was only a 10/15 minute walk to the centre of town. The hotel is old-fashioned but impecably clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful - I'd definitely stay again.
The location of the hotel is very good, just a few blocs distance to Plaza Independencia and a number of nice restaurants within reach. Staff was very helpful, as always in Argentina.Taking into consideration that we received a good exchange rate and price by the hotel, it was extremely good value for money.
Well situated in Mendoza, clean and well sized swimming pool, pleasant outdoor area shaded by plants and good seating inside, including a big screen showing football. A shout out to the helpful staff behind the desk who made us feel very much at home. And a good cold water cooler on the first floor.
The hotel staff were really helpful and fixed the mistakes made by Booking. I had tried to contact Booking around five times to fix multiple mistakes made over four deprecate bookings for my time in Argentina and did not receive a reply. I would not recommend Booking.com
Laura is awesome - so kind, friendly and helpful! My room was comfortable with a nice bathroom. Quiet location but not far from downtown Mendoza. Would definitely stay here again on a future visit.
The facility was in excellent condition. Clean and modern. Located in downtown Mendoza close to the highway, restaurants and shopping. Sandra was a wonderful host.
Quiet, gated community in the middle of Vistalba, 1 of 4 wine growing areas around Mendoza. Beautiful much loved garden. Very welcoming hosts, Alfredo & Myriam.
